Hello Trango: I have a question about the 5 element yagi I am currently using for satcom. First i live in a community with a hoa and today I had to take down my Hustler 4BTV that I use for hf (not real happy about that). Well my 5 element yagi is outside in the backyard mounted on a 6′ mast if I move this antenna into the garage will that greatly affect the signal as far as sat transmissions are concerned? If so I may have to put it on a small tripod just below the privacy fence or in the garage. Any advice would help. Thanks in advance.
Hi Glenn, sorry for the delay. It all depends on the roof materials, etc. There are many people that successfully use UHF satcom antenna in attic. It will attenuate the signal but still may be useable depending on your preamp and roof materials. You will just have to try it to see if it will work OK for you. Good luck!
